A survey of nineteenth-century Italian sculpture, painting and applied arts written by Ugo Fleres, Pompeo Molmenti, Ugo Ojetti and Guido Menasci, issued by Vallardi in Milan in 1900 for Italian general readers and art students. The plates are coarse-screen halftones of exhibition canvases, ceiling figures, monuments and decorative objects, grainy and heavily shadowed, useful for soft grey tonal fields, crowded figure groups and single draped allegorical figures.
