L'astronomie nautique au Portugal a l'époque des grandes découvertes
A 1912 scholarly monograph by Joaquim Bensaúde, published in Bern, on the nautical astronomy used by Portuguese navigators during the age of discovery, written for historians of science and navigation. The plates mix line geometry diagrams of celestial circles and sun angles, some lettered in French and Portuguese, with a detailed engraving of an astrolabe showing its rule, ring and dimension notes; useful for compass roses, wind-direction wheels, labelled construction lines and instrument faces.
