La teinture du coton
A French technical manual on the dyeing of cotton, written by Emile Serre and published in Paris by H. Dunod et E. Pinat in 1912 for dyehouse chemists and textile mill staff. The illustrations are wood-engraved machine diagrams in elevation and cut-away section, with ruled hatching for cast-iron bodies and liquor levels, numbered figure captions, and repeated parts such as bevel gears, belt pulleys, perforated baskets and foundation blocks that can be reused as industrial line-art motifs.
