Le arme delle famiglie nobili di Siena
An armorial of the noble families of Siena compiled by Girolamo Gigli and printed there in 1716 for local genealogists and civic record-keepers. Engraved plates set sixteen shields to a page in ruled grids, each named on a scroll and topped by coronets, helms, or a cardinal's hat, giving designers ready charges: lions, eagles, checkers, bends, and heraldic beasts.
