Le Centre de l'amour : decouvert soubs divers emblesmes galans et facetieux
A French-language emblem book of gallant and comic love scenes, engraved by Peter Rollos and issued in 1680 under the fictitious imprint "Chez Cupidon," for courtly readers amused by amorous mischief. The 94 small horizontal copperplates show couples in ruffs, farthingales and plumed hats courting, quarrelling and spying, set against hatched landscapes with village churches or tiled-stove interiors, offering costume detail, gesture studies and compact figure groups.
