Le chiese de Roma I
An Italian architectural survey of the churches of Rome, written by Ugo Monneret de Villard and published in Milan by E. Bonomi in 1910 for architects, archaeologists and students of early Christian building. The plates are halftone photographs of basilica interiors shot down the nave: colonnades, coffered and beamed ceilings, cosmatesque floor and wall inlay, ciboria, screens and apse mosaics, useful for column rhythms, geometric inlay patterns and deep one-point perspectives.
