Lectiones opticæ & geometricæ : in quibus phænomenon opticorum genuinæ rationes investigantur, ac exponuntur: et generalia curvarum linearum symptomata declarantur
Isaac Barrow's Latin treatise on optics and geometry, edited with help from Newton and John Collins and printed in London in 1674 for mathematicians and natural philosophers. The plates are dense engraved sheets of numbered line diagrams — triangles, tangents, circles, cones of rays — packed edge to edge with italic letter labels, useful as fine-line abstract pattern or scientific texture.
