Le filet-guipure
A needlework manual on filet-guipure lace by Thérèse de Dillmont, issued by the thread manufacturer Dollfus-Mieg at Mulhouse around 1870 for women working darned net lace at home. The plates are photographic close-ups of white lace on black grounds, showing square grids filled with darned rosettes, stars, wheels and crosses, plus corner borders and picot edgings — usable as high-contrast geometric repeats, grid motifs and ornamental corner pieces.
