L'enfer des peuples anciens
A 1784 Paris treatise by Antoine François Delandine on the underworld of classical mythology and ancient demonology, issued by the Rue et hôtel Serpente press for antiquarian and learned readers. The pictures are small letterpress ornaments printed with the text: coarse woodcut sprays of flowers and leaves, tufts of grass, and crossed torches or trumpet forms, useful as rules, headpieces and spot devices at small sizes.
