The collected works of Galileo Galilei, issued in Florence in 1842 by the Società editrice fiorentina as a scholarly edition of his astronomical and physical writings. Engraved plates hold numbered figure groups drawn in fine pale lines: lettered circles and arcs, tangent constructions, right-angle proofs, and hatched spheres arranged on open white space, useful as diagram ornament or line-work texture.
