Le peintre-graveur illustré : (xix et xx siècles)
Loys Delteil's Le peintre-graveur illustré, published by the author in Paris from 1906, is a multi-volume illustrated catalogue raisonné of nineteenth- and twentieth-century etchings and lithographs, compiled for print collectors, dealers and curators. The plates reproduce drypoints and etchings at full scale, chiefly bearded male portrait heads and a seated nude built from dense scratched hatching, with thin plate-mark borders and open margins that suit designers wanting sketch-like line texture and states of the same head side by side.
