Le Portefeuille d'un très vieux garçon
An 1885 Paris volume of sketches and reminiscences by the French caricaturist and illustrator Albert Robida, issued by the Librairie illustrée for a general readership of magazine subscribers. The plates are loose pen drawings printed in a single orange-red ink, showing women reading, sewing, leaning from windows and seated by lamps, built from open hatching and blank paper that leaves faces and dresses half-stated; useful for line-weight studies, monochrome spot illustration, and figures with no background.
