A three-volume French antiquarian survey of historic castles, written by Gustave Eyriès and Paul Perret with etchings by Eugène Sadoux, issued in Paris by H. Oudin frères in 1877 for readers of architectural history. The plates are fine-line etchings of châteaux seen from a distance or at the gate, with heavy cast shadow, overgrown walls, and blank skies useful as textured backdrops.
