Les débuts d'un peintre
Memoir of his early career by the Belgian flower painter Jean Robie, printed in Brussels by Polleunis, Ceuterick et Lefébure in 1886 for readers in the local art world. Decoration carries the book: red initials on black grounds with white vine scrolls, a drum and a ladder worked into letterforms, and black-line headpieces of fruit swags, ribbons and tassels.
