Les emblemes d'amour divin et humain ensemble : expliquez par des vers françois
A French emblem book of divine and human love, engraved by Jean Messager, Michael Snijders and Gillis van Schoor and published by Pierre Mariette in Paris in 1640, with verse commentary for devotional readers. Each square plate pairs a winged, rayed Amor Divinus with a kneeling soul in a hatched landscape, giving compact allegorical vignettes, flame and radiance motifs, and oversized plants usable as spot ornament.
