Les fetes galantes;
An album of society caricatures drawn by Ferdinand Bac with a preface by Arsène Houssaye, published in Paris by H. Simonis Empis in 1894 for readers of Belle Époque humour about Parisian night life. The plates are wash drawings with light hand colour, showing couples in evening dress at supper tables, doorways and theatre boxes, and offer designers figure poses, top hats and tailcoats, trailing ball gowns, and grey-toned interiors with sharp black accents.
