Les graveurs liégeois
A survey of engravers from Liège, compiled by Alfred Micha and printed by Bénard in Liège in 1908 for print collectors and local art historians. The plates reproduce four centuries of Walloon printmaking: a crude early woodcut saint among flowers, a densely hatched enthroned apostle, a fur-capped man at his drawing board, and a loose etched nude between curtains, giving designers a range of line densities from blunt block-cut outline to fine drypoint tone.
