Les heures de loisir
A French book of children's leisure pastimes written by Rosine de La Salle Midy and issued in Paris in 1842 by the Librairie pittoresque de la jeunesse for young readers. The plates are soft crayon lithographs of single boys absorbed outdoors — drawing from nature, climbing a trunk, inspecting a garden trellis — set against loosely scribbled foliage, with engraved initials wrapped in flowering scrollwork for decorative borders and drop caps.
