Les jeux des Grecs et des Romains
A French edition of Wilhelm Richter's study of Greek and Roman games, published by Bouillon in Paris in 1891 for classical scholars and students of ancient daily life. The plates are line redrawings of vase paintings—wrestlers, runners, armed warriors, and drinking scenes—reproduced within the curved interiors of cups, amphora panels, and meander and checkerboard borders that can be lifted as frames or ornament.
