Les maitres humoristes : les meilleurs dessins : les meilleurs légendes
A French humour anthology from the series Les maîtres humoristes, published by Félix Juven in Paris in 1905, collecting cartoons by Caran d'Ache for a general readership of periodical caricature. The drawings are loose pen-and-ink scenes of Belle Époque street and parlour life, often in paired panels that carry a joke across two frames, with bowler hats, bustled coats, moustached gentlemen and dogs sketched in quick contour line against blank ground.
