Gabriel Leroux's 1913 archaeological monograph on the origins of the hypostyle hall in Greece, the Near East, and Rome, published in Paris by Fontemoing for scholars of ancient architecture. The plates are small line plans in which walls read as solid black or hatched bands around open courts, with columns marked as filled and hollow dots and doorways left as white gaps, giving designers high-contrast geometric figures and a clear vocabulary for diagramming interior space.
