Les plafonds; transformations progressives du XVIe au XIXe siècle, deux cent trent reproductions documentaires
A Paris reference album issued by G. Baranger in 1922, in which Edouard Rouveyre gathered 230 documentary reproductions tracing painted and plaster ceiling design from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, for architects, decorators and plasterers. The plates are overhead plans in dense engraved line and stipple: coffered compartments, oval and octagonal centres, foliate scrollwork, cartouches, garlands, and winged figures usable as borders, rosettes and repeating frames.
