A two-volume French treatise on aesthetics by Pierre Estève, printed in Paris by C. J. B. Bauche fils in 1753 for lettered readers of art theory. Copper-engraved headpiece vignettes show putti at painting, planting and harvest inside laurel ovals, with a captioned motto plate, an armorial bookplate with greyhound supporters, and a red-blue combed marbled endpaper.
