Les rayons X et la photographie a travers les corps opaques
A French technical account of X-rays and photography through opaque bodies, written by physicist Charles-Edouard Guillaume with Röntgen's findings and issued in Paris by Gauthier-Villars in 1896 for physicists, doctors and instrument makers. Wood-engraved diagrams of Crookes tubes, lenses and benches sit beside early radiographs of hands, bicycle wheels and metal fittings, giving crisp line apparatus and grainy grey shadow-images.
