Les vitraux
A survey of stained glass by the French critic Olivier Merson, published in Paris in 1895 by Quantin for readers and craftsmen following the revival of church glazing. The plates reproduce medieval windows as flat black line drawings on tinted grounds, with leading shown as heavy contour, hatched drapery and grisaille patterning: figure panels of Crucifixion and enthroned Christ, geometric grisaille quarries with foliage, fleur-de-lis borders and rose-window tracery ready for use as ornament or frame stock.
