A 1751 antiquarian letter by Francesco Saverio Quadrio on the ball games of the ancients, addressed to Teodoro Alessandro Trivulzio and printed in Milan by Antonio Agnelli for classical scholars. The scanned plate is an engraved armorial bookplate of the Biblioteca Sormani Andreani Verri: a quartered shield with lion, castle and bear under a coronet, wreathed in laurel and ivy with a lettered cartouche.
