Art-historical letters on Sienese painting and sculpture by Guglielmo Della Valle, a member of the Accademia di Fossano, printed in Venice by Giovambatista Pasquali in 1782 for antiquarians and academy readers. Outline engravings copy early Sienese compositions as pure contour line, crowds of figures pressed against arcaded interiors, alongside rococo woodcut headpieces of acanthus scrolls, swags and trumpeting putti; useful for line-only figure groups and reusable ornamental bands.
