Letters of an architect, from France, Italy, and Greece

Woods, Joseph, 1776-1864 · 1828 · London, J. and A. Arch · 20 pictures

Joseph Woods, an English architect, published these travel letters in London in 1828, recording buildings seen in France, Italy and Greece for British architects and antiquarians. The plates are line engravings and wood-engraved diagrams: elevations, plans and sections of church fronts, palace facades and apse vaulting, useful for hatched masonry, tracery patterns, arcades and measured architectural outlines.
