Letters of an architect, from France, Italy, and Greece
Joseph Woods, an English architect, gathered his continental travel correspondence into Letters of an Architect, from France, Italy, and Greece, issued in London by J. and A. Arch in 1828 for fellow architects and educated travellers. Tonal engraved plates show ruins and towns in wide landscape settings, while outline woodcuts in the text give arches, doorways, window tracery and column plans as clean unshaded line, usable as architectural diagram stock.
