Letters of an architect, from France, Italy, and Greece
Joseph Woods's two-volume travel correspondence on the buildings of France, Italy, and Greece, published in London by J. and A. Arch in 1828 for architects and antiquarian readers. The plates are measured outline drawings and engraved elevations — Venetian palace facades, half-plans of apse vaulting, Gothic capitals, pinnacles and tracery — useful as line ornament, architectural silhouettes, and geometric repeat patterns.
