Letters of an architect, from France, Italy, and Greece
Joseph Woods, an English architect, published these travel letters in London in 1828, reporting on buildings he examined in France, Italy and Greece for fellow architects and educated readers. Illustrations mix plain outline elevations and sections of facades, domes, arches and vaulting with a few tonal engraved views of temples in landscape, useful as line-drawn architectural diagrams.
