Letters of Celia Thaxter
A posthumous collection of the American poet and gardener Celia Thaxter's correspondence, edited by Annie Fields and Rose Lamb and published by Houghton, Mifflin in Boston in 1897 for her literary readership. The plates are portrait photographs reproduced as soft-toned halftones, showing Thaxter reading among vases of cut flowers and standing in a poppy bed, alongside a pencil profile set in a thin oval frame on bare paper.
