A short French letter on the practice of painting by Le Blond de La Tour, printed at Bordeaux by Pierre du Coq in 1669 for painters and amateurs of the art. The plates here are letterpress ornament: woodcut headpiece bands of scrolling acanthus flanked by birds and centred on fleur-de-lis shields, and square initial letters set in laurel leaves and a single open flower.
