Lettres sur l'Italie, écrites en 1785

Dupaty, Charles-Marguerite-Jean-Baptiste Mercier, 1746-1788, Du Bois, Louis, 1773-1855 · 1824 · Paris : Verdière · 16 pictures

Charles Dupaty's travel letters from a 1785 Italian journey, reissued in Paris by Verdière in 1824 with notes by Louis Du Bois for French readers of art and topography. Small outline etchings show hill towns, castles, grottoes and bays drawn in thin contour with sparse hatching and large blank skies, useful for spare landscape line work and captioned vignette formats.
