Le val d'Arno
John Ruskin's Oxford lectures on thirteenth-century Tuscan sculpture and architecture, translated into French by Emile Cammaerts and issued by Renouard in Paris in 1911 for art students and general readers. The fifteen plates are coarse-grained halftones of carved pulpits, sarcophagus reliefs, inlaid marble panels and painted vault ribs with winged angels and stars, useful as high-contrast textures, Romanesque and Gothic ornament motifs, and photographic grain.
