A chronicle of Russian coinage compiled by Ivan Petrovich Sakharov and published in St Petersburg in 1842 for collectors and antiquarians. Line drawings show obverse and reverse pairs of small silver coins with irregular edges, Cyrillic legends, seated rulers, horsemen, birds and beasts, offering designers rough-edged medallion shapes, archaic lettering and simple emblem figures.
