Light and the behavior of organisms
A 1911 experimental monograph by S. O. Mast, published by John Wiley in New York, recording how single-celled organisms and small invertebrates orient and move in response to light, written for zoologists and physiologists. The plates are spare line diagrams: wandering paths traced across blank ground, rows of small arrows marking light direction, lettered stages of a flagellate turning — useful as minimal linework, motion notation, and diagram scaffolding.
