Light and the behavior of organisms
A 1911 experimental biology monograph by Samuel Ottmar Mast, published in New York by J. Wiley & Sons, reporting laboratory studies of how light directs the movement of organisms, written for zoologists and physiologists. The plates are line diagrams: wandering ink traces of swimming paths plotted against ruled margins and rows of small arrows marking light direction, plus outline sequences of a single organism turning, useful as ready-made track lines, arrow fields, and lettered motion studies.
