Light and lighting
A trade periodical on lighting practice issued from London in 1908 by the Illuminating Engineering Society with the Association of Public Lighting Engineers, written for engineers, architects and municipal lighting officials. Halftone photographs show factory floors, machine shops and switchboard rooms lit by hanging arc and incandescent lamps, giving designers grainy interiors, cone-shaped light halos, belt-driven shafting and dark industrial silhouettes.
