A list of early American silversmiths and their marks
A reference list of early American silversmiths and their marks, compiled by Hollis French for the Walpole Society and printed in New York in 1917 for collectors and dealers. Line drawings give outline profiles of tankards, cream jugs, sugar bowls and urns, plus hallmark stamps, usable as clean silhouettes, scrolled handle motifs and small maker's-mark devices.
