Livre de desseins d'Alexandre Lambert
A manuscript album of textile pattern drawings by Alexandre Lambert, made around 1700 at Darnétal near Rouen for use in a cloth-printing and weaving trade. The sheets are pricked and painted in dense black against bare paper, with large scrolling leaves, palmettes and vines outlined by rows of pinholes; useful for high-contrast silhouette florals, dotted linework and stencil textures.
