Catalogue of a loan exhibition of paintings by old Dutch masters held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in connection with the Hudson-Fulton celebration, September-November, MCMIX
An exhibition catalogue of seventeenth-century Dutch paintings lent to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 1909 Hudson-Fulton celebration, compiled by curator Wilhelm Valentiner and published in New York in 1910 for collectors and museum visitors. The 202 halftone plates reproduce portraits, interiors, landscapes and still lifes in soft low-contrast grey, useful for faded ghost images, costume details like ruffs and broad hats, and half-length figure silhouettes.
