A manuscript whaling logbook kept by Henry Clay Murdock aboard the New Bedford ship Nassau under master J.W. White, covering the voyage of August 1850 to May 1853, written as a working daily record for the vessel's owners. The scans are close crops of brown iron-gall cursive — dated entries, latitude and longitude figures, wind and weather notes — usable as handwriting texture, ruled-line fragments, and numeral forms.
