A London encyclopaedia, or universal dictionary of science, art, literature and practical mechanics : comprising a popular view of the present state of knowledge : illustrated by numerous engravings, a general atlas, and appropriate diagrams
A general reference encyclopaedia edited by Thomas Curtis and published by Thomas Tegg in London in 1829, covering science, art, literature and practical mechanics for a broad self-educating readership. The engraved plates run to technical diagrams: naval architecture in elevation and section with hull lines, rigging and sail plans drawn as taut line geometry, ranked diagrams of military positions, and dense pages of engraved musical score usable as line texture and schematic pattern.
