A Spanish-language survey of Catalonia's religious orders in the first half of the nineteenth century, written by the Barcelona priest Cayetano Barraquer y Roviralta and printed by F.J. Altès y Alabart in 1915 for clergy, local historians and antiquarians recording what the 1835 suppressions left behind. The plates are captioned halftone photographs of monastery churches, apses and portals, carved wooden retables shot head-on, and close-ups of vault keystones and armorial carving, giving designers stone and woodwork ornament, heraldic shields, and grainy architectural record shots.
