Luini
A short monograph on the Lombard painter Bernardino Luini, issued in Boston by Bates and Guild in 1902 for art students and general readers. Eleven halftone plates reproduce his panels and frescoes: madonnas with books, haloed children, angels, and downcast-eyed women among flowers, all in soft grey tonal ranges with dark backgrounds useful for cut-out figures and portrait vignettes.
