A trade catalogue of ornamental cast iron issued in 1885 by Walter Macfarlane and Company of Glasgow, showing fountains, park seats and garden ornaments to architects, municipal buyers and contractors ordering by pattern number. Tinted lithographic plates render each piece in three-quarter view with falling water drawn as fine hatched lines, plus plan diagrams of basin outlines; designers can lift tiered fountain silhouettes, foliate cresting, columned pedestals and cast-iron surface ornament.
