A Dutch pattern book of garden ornament by G. van Laar, published in Amsterdam by Jacobus de Ruyter in 1802, offering landowners and gardeners buildable models for large and small pleasure grounds. Hand-coloured engravings show small rustic and Chinese-style structures in isolation on grass with framing trees: thatched roofs, rough stone and bark-clad walls, pagoda finials, latticed shutters, each usable as a cut-out vignette or silhouette.
