A Dutch pattern book of garden ornaments and structures compiled by Gijsbert van Laar and published in Amsterdam in 1802, offering model designs for large and small pleasure grounds that could be built cheaply. The hand-coloured engravings show small pavilions, domed temples, Gothic gateways, rustic huts and hermitages in elevation with matching ground plans, drawn in thin outline with flat washes of ochre, grey and green and set against sketchy trees, useful for architectural silhouettes, plan diagrams and period colour keys.
