A Dutch pattern book of garden ornament by Gijsbert van Laar, published in Amsterdam by Jacobus de Ruyter in 1802 for owners and builders of large and small pleasure gardens wanting inexpensive features. The plates are hand-coloured engravings of rustic cottages, thatched and shingled roofs, ivy-covered stone walls, and painted lattice gates, drawn as flat elevations with clear outlines and washed colour that suit cut-out, collage and repeat-motif use.
